Anderson County Wrestling Tournament Seeding Criteria 1. Wrestlers will be ranked as best as possible based on the information sent in on the entry form. Coaches need to be ready to provide head-to-head and common opponents information at the seeding meeting. If head-to-head and common opponents don’t separate wrestlers, then the following rankings will decide seeds. Wrestlers with losing records will not be considered for a seed even if they have a head-to-head or a common opponent. 2. The rankings will be based on the following: A. Highest place at last year’s State Tournament at the nearest weight. B. Having placed in the top 3 at last year’s AC Tournament, or had two wins at last year’s State Tournament at the nearest weight will be given the same consideration. C. Placed 4th, 5th, or 6th at last year’s AC Tournament or winning one match at last year’s State Tournament will be given the same consideration. D. Qualifiers for the State Tournament who didn’t win a match at the State Tournament will be given consideration in conjunction with record. E. Record - Only wrestlers with .500 records are seedable, and both the winning percentage and the number of matches wrestled will be considered. F. If the criteria and/or records do not clearly separate wrestlers, they will be considered even and put into a draw for the seed(s) they are up for. 3. If three or more wrestlers are tied after one or more criteria, and the next criteria puts on wrestler above the others for the seed being considered, the remaining wrestlers will go back to the first criteria to separate them for the remaining seeds. 4. The margin of victory or loss will not be considered in separating wrestlers. 5. Being sick before, during, or after a loss will not be considered in separating wrestlers. (Injury defaults will be dealt with on an individual basis, and common sense used to determine if one wrestler will be seeded above the other.) 6. Freshmen, wrestlers on JV last year, and wrestlers who did not compete in the Anderson County Tournament or State Tournament last year will in fact be at a disadvantage in the seeding process.
